Fashion Monday Madness..............

I hope everyone on the East Coast made it through Irene safely this weekend.  Moments like this make me thankful for my living in a land-locked state where we only have to avoid tornadoes.  My weekend was full of reading.  But of course, when isn't it?  I also finally saw the movie Fright Night which was enjoyable and, which you can read more of, in my movie review on Wednesday.  I'll also be hosting author Reena Jacobs on Thursday along with a giveaway related to her new release.  So be on the lookout for all the excitement coming up this week.  And now for our Monday staple of.....

The Good....

At age 66, Helen Mirren continues to look ravishing in red with her classic hairstyle and tasteful accessories.  All of us wish we looked half as good as she does and I can't help but marvel at her genetics.  She just keeps getting better, and younger-looking, with age.

Anne Hathaway is on top again this week in a classic yet romantic dress.  Lace can sometimes look dated, but the cut of this gives it a funky edge.  She looks flirty and demure all at once.

The Bad....

Katy Perry looks like a craft project gone astray with her macrame skirt and tamely tie-dyed tank.  Add in the cotton candy colored hair and Katy looks virtually unrecognizable.  Which is probably a good thing considering how unkempt she looks.

Kelly Osbourne is going for cutting edge, but ends up looking clown-like in this overly-embellished cocktail dress that completely overwhelms her.  As the newest addition to E!'s Fashion Police you'd think she'd know better.  Be prepared for Joan Rivers' wrath in this mess of a dress!

The Ugly....

With the economy going through a rough patch, singer Cee Lo Green must have heard that the only good investment is gold.  At least I hope that's the explanation for this gaudy outfit.  From head-to-toe he looks like The Oscar Statuette or perhaps MC Hammer was having a garage sale and Cee Lo was able to get this for cheap.

Zoe Saldana has also gone overboard with the gold-lame fabric and embellishments.  With the sheer fabric inclusion I'm not sure if she thinks she's a superhero or a reject from the cast of Barbarella.  Either way, this is what happens when sci-fi goes bad.  Next time, save this for your role on Star Trek.

That concludes another Monday runway show with the Stars.  What's your take on these wardrobe choices?  Malfunctions or masterpieces?  Sound off below and come visit again next week for more fashion fun.
