Richard Ramsey is the guitarist for the world’s hottest new band.
Gifted. Charismatic. Hot as sin.
Lend your ear, and he’ll steal your heart.
Nah, you can’t have his considering he left it in his hometown years ago.
He knows better than going back. But it’s his younger sister’s wedding, and there’s no way he can say no to that.
He should have known she would be there, invading his senses and making him thirst and hunger for what he wants most.
Violet Marin hates him for what he’s done. He left her empty handed with their wreckage strewn all around. She’s picked up the pieces and is living her life the best way that she can.
But their connection is fierce.
Their attraction unending.
It only takes one glance for their worlds to collide. One touch to set them on fire.
But she doesn’t know the dark secrets he keeps. If he had understood the true price of fame, he would have known he’d sold his soul and this debt is something he cannot repay.
Letting her go is impossible, but will loving her cost it all?
EXCERPT:
I swooped her up. She squealed in surprise, and then she wrapped her arms around my neck and melted into me.
I carried her into her room. The whole time, I kissed her slow and desperate.
I carried her into her room. The whole time, I kissed her slow and desperate.
She whimpered and sighed, that honeyed tongue playing and dancing and teasing against mine.
Strokes and licks.
Desire lapped and sizzled and flamed.
Growing in strength.
I only stopped long enough to shut her door and click the lock before I set her in the middle of her room.
“Let me look at you."
“I think you’ve been lookin’ at me all night,” she teased.
A rough chuckle curled up my chest. “Not possible to pay attention to anything else when I’ve got heaven staring back at me."
Heat crept up her chest and splashed her cheeks.
“You wreck me, Violet. Absolutely destroy me."
“You ruined me the first time you touched me.”
“Hope you’re good with me touchin’ you time and time again.” It came out a warning.
“Hope you’re good with me touchin’ you time and time again.” It came out a warning.
She breezed out the wisp of a sigh. “I’m just fine with you ripping me apart while you’re keeping me together."
Lust burst in my blood. A dam breaking way and sweeping away all control.
Need overwhelming.
Crushing.
Guts tied up and body aching to get lost in this girl.
“Gonna devour every inch of that delicious body,” I muttered, voice scraping the heated air.
Energy banged against the walls.
Trembled underfoot.
“You better.” I heard it for what it was. A demand.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
When it comes to romances, those involving second chance couples are among my favorites as the connection between the couple has already been established and it pulls you into their journey wholeheartedly from the start. And when the couple is as compelling and likable as Richard and Violet are you know you're in for a satisfying journey, one that pulls at the heartstrings as past hurts and lies weigh on their future. Add in reappearances by Richard's bandmates and characters from the previous books in this series and you'll find yourself wrapped in a warm hug of familiarity and family by the turn of the final page.
Ms. Jackson has crafted another wonderful heroine with Violet Martin, a young woman who's loyal, protective, with a big heart that shines bright. She's got fire to her though beyond her sweet nature, a fire of bitterness and anger directed at the man who broke her heart six years ago when he walked away without a backward glance. Her ability to trust has been broken and her heart is still bruised, but the moment Richard and her see each other again it's clear that there's still something between them. The connection between them still crackles after all these years and a haze of sensuality surrounded them which helped fuel their inevitable reunion despite her trying to guard her heart against him. It's a rocky journey that brings them back to each other, one that had her putting herself out there one last time for the man who's always held her heart.
Richard Ramsey is a man haunted by his past, riddled with guilt over past actions and the hurt it caused the most important person in his life...Violet. She's the one he let get away, the one who's always held his heart and the one who every lyric he's written is about. Coming home for his sister's wedding brings him face to face with his past though and gives him the chance to right the wrongs that have been haunting him in an angst-fueled journey of revenge, redemption, and forgiveness that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Richard's a delicious hero, sexy and protective with a commanding nature, but he's far from perfect after walking away from Violet like he did. His reasons for doing so were admirable, as readers discover as the story progresses, but could've been handled in a way that hadn't alienated Violet. With his return Richard is a man on a mission, a mission that not only involves the heart of this couple but also the soul of their community as the danger from long ago rears its ugly head once again. This time around Richard won't run, he'll stand and fight for the woman that's always been the other half of him in an exhilarating ending to their epic romance.
This is a story full of angst, a romance full of tears and steamy encounters, with an intriguing blast of suspense and danger that has been lurking in the background of this series of books and that kept my emotions constantly on edge. Richard and Violet are an unforgettable couple, one who was always meant to be, and it had me rooting for them every step of the way through every high and every low that came at them. While the romance between these two pulled at my heartstrings, the suspense and danger came hurtling towards me as the ending got closer and closer and it made for some very pulse-pounding moments late in the story as well as a wish that the truth had come out a bit earlier since the ending felt a bit overloaded. Much about this story was intense but there was one bright spot...Daisy. She was a sweet and joy-filled child, wise beyond her years, but who always put a smile on my face. On a whole this was an immensely satisfying romance, a lyrically beautiful tale of a romance meant to be, and though this book was wrapped up with a bow I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment featuring the delicious Rhys.
My rating for this is an A-
