The Importance of Music on One Tree Hill:The Complete Eighth Season on DVD/UltraViolet

Like most shows on The CW, music plays an important part in conveying emotions and drawing viewers into the action.  Long time favorite, One Tree Hill, is no exception and the use of music has kept this show feeling fresh yet today.  The theme song for the show is entitled "I Don't Want to Be" and is sung by Gavin DeGraw.  For the 8th Season different artists came to the studio to sing their versions of the theme song with some very entertaining results.  From dance beats to mellow tempos, all the versions were uniquely different from the original.  My favorite was by So & So who created a strong beat that was perfect to dance to but with a harder edge.  The vocals were strong too and made for a more powerful song, almost anthem-like.  I like the rebelliousness this version engendered.  Keeping with the idea of a big sounding song, I'd like to hear what Lady Gaga would do with this song.  Her version would be powerful no doubt and be energizing to those listening, definitely a tune that would stand out.

Check out all the music and drama thus far with One Tree Hill:The Complete Eighth Season on DVD and UltraViolet.

And don't forget that Season 9 premieres on Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 at 8/7c on The CW!
