She wants more than just his forgiveness...
Trixie’s not ashamed of the exposé she wrote for the college newspaper last year. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes to get the story, even if it meant lying to a friend to get the inside scoop.
Still, every time she sees Wes, she regrets the loss of someone she really enjoyed spending time with. Not one for labels, or someone who puts limitations on attraction, Trixie can’t deny the pull she feels toward Wes when they cross paths again.
He's willing to do whatever it takes to change her perception of him...
Wes has always been the odd man out. Different than his brothers, he was always more comfortable playing video games or enjoying solitary moments in the pool.
Although he never expected someone as sexy as Trixie to fall for an inexperienced guy like him, he also never expected her betrayal. Now that he has a second chance, can he get her to see him as more than the nice guy she duped?
A year has passed, but anger and regret still linger. Can Wes and Trixie agree to put the past behind them and move forward, or will late night confessions prove to be more than they can forgive and forget?

EXCERPT:

What are you watching? Have you been up all night?”
I glanced over at Brody, eyes blurry from too much late-night binging, and blinked rapidly to bring him into focus.
He stood at the entrance to the living room, hair sticking up all over, scratching his butt absently as he yawned. Shifting my eyes to the clock on the microwave, I squinted to try and read the blue lights, but it was no use...I couldnt see shit.
What time is it?” I asked.
Seven. Dont you have to be at the pool in like thirty minutes?” Brody asked.
Shit!” I yelled jumping up off the couch before turning and fumbling through the blanket in search of the remote.
I had swim practice every weekday morning, and some weekends, and our coach did not like it if we missed without prior permission. It made sense, he didnt want his team missing practice due to hangovers and such.
I pressed pause on the TV and told Brody, Dont mess with that.”
What? Are you saying I cant watch TV?”
No, you can, just dont lost my place on this show.”
What the hell even is it?”
Lucifer,” I told him.
And why in the hell would I want to watch that?” he asked, furrowing his brow. Actually… why are you watching it?”
I heard some girls in class talking about it. Apparently they all find him sexy, in a dangerous devilish kind of way, so I thought Id check it out and see if it was on the level with Karries book I read.”
Brody blinked at me as if Id suddenly sprouted another head.
I was only going to watch one, but next thing you know, Im finishing the second season and now Im gonna be late.”
Who even are you right now?” Brody asked with a shake of his head.
Im the guy whos gonna swim for shit because he hasnt gotten a second of sleep,” I replied dryly, then hurried out of the room.

MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:

The Frat House Confessions series is set in the collegiate world and is focused on the three Temple brothers with a past that has kept them from bonding completely because of their father’s abuse and their mother’s indifference.  After reading the previous book in this series I was immediately drawn to the remaining two brothers and looked forward to them taking center stage. The wait thankfully wasn’t too long though as we now get to learn more about the truly good and kind-hearted middle brother Wes.  His second chance with Trixie, the young woman who lied to him to get her newspaper story published, may start out full of anger but soon turns sensual in a romance that utterly charmed me.

Wes Temple is the proverbial good boy, one who wants to grow closer to his brothers after a childhood full of emotional and physical abuse.  With all of them in college now he actually has the chance to make that happen while also giving him the chance to learn more about himself.  He starts out feeling hurt because of Trixie’s lies to him and it has him wanting to find his place in the world without being tied to his brothers which makes for an empowering journey to HEA.  Wes is a delicious book boyfriend, kind-hearted, sweet, and protective.  There’s a vibe of naïveté surrounding him too, showing him to be a young man with very little experience.  It’s the opposite of his brothers who say and do exactly what’s needed to get the girl.  I found Wes to be a refreshing hero, one with tiny flaws that made me like him all the more.  He has a tender heart too, one that’s been hurt by Trixie’s lies as he felt a deep connection to her that he wants to rediscover,,,as soon as he can put his bruised feelings behind him.  It all makes for a rocky journey to HEA as Trixie’s expose caused lots of problems, angered a lot of people, and it’s made things just as hard for Wes.  Wes though is strong on loyalty and as the story progresses a strong and supportive side to him emerges that has them taking yet one more step closer to a second chance with Trixie.

Trixie’s the opposite to Wes in many ways as she’s strong-willed, decisive in her actions, with an air of doing what she thinks is right despite the fall-out.  She’s self-assured too, more confident than Wes, and it’s these differences that makes them an immensely appealing couple.  Since her expose came out a year ago Trixie’s felt a bit guilty and lonely when it comes to Wes, though she knows it was a story that needed to be told.  She enjoyed their time together and hasn’t found anyone since who comes close to making her feel as fulfilled as he did.  While watching their push and pull play out I took on a cheerleader role and was rooting for them every step of the way as I found their pairing both sweet and sexy.  Once they make their way back to each other doesn’t mean their story’s over though as there’s still lots of anger within the frat, and without, for them to deal with.  Though early on I hated Trixie for hurting Wes the way she did, I couldn’t have been prouder than when she stood up to Wes’ mother when the woman again tried to tear him down.  It was a Grand Gesture that had me fully supporting their pairing while warming my heart.

Though this story can stand strongly on its own I definitely think that it’s a much stronger story after reading Ridge’s story where we first meet Wes and Trixie.  We see them growing closer to one another and see the guilt surrounding Trixie from one page to the next while getting just a glimpse of the fall-out of her expose.  Trixie and Wes are a delightful pairing with roles that are a bit unique courtesy of a naive and inexperienced hero and a strong and confident heroine.  It was a crackling connection that I can still picture in my head today.  Surrounding this likable main couple is a cast of equally entertaining secondary characters.  I thoroughly enjoyed Trixie’s roommates and their charming romance while I was equally overjoyed to see more about Wes’ brothers Ridge and Brody.  The closeness of the brothers jumped off the page and warmed my heart for the unconditional support they give each other along with the playfulness that permeates their times together.  I was also drawn to fellow frat member Papi, and his words of wisdom, and I look forward to learning more about the former seminary student.  Fans of the New Adult genre will find this a delightful read with realistic and appealing main characters whose flaws have you cheering them on from the first page to the last.

My rating for this is an A-.
