This is the day of the week where we get to know each other better by answering a question devised by our lovely hostesses Parajunkee & Alisoncanread. We also gain new followers by joining each other's sites via GFC, so please let me know if you're a new follower since I automatically follow back. And now for this week's question....
Q. Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?
A. Oh, I can definitely think of one villain I LOVED and wanted to win! That villain is Xcor from JR Ward's Lover Unleashed. He's been lied to his entire life and done bad things because of the lie. He's just misunderstood and I found him strangely attractive. I felt bad for him that he got beat and can't wait to see more of him in the future.
Oh, good answer! Xcor is one of those shady not quite villain characters. I assume that he'll have a stronger role in later books.

I'm a few books behind in BDB, but JR writes a lot of nice bad-guy heroes, for sure.
ReplyDeleteNew follower.
Happy FF!
I kind of felt like he was being set up to be a future hero or as the start of a new series so I never really brought him as a baddie.
ReplyDeleteHave a great FF!

I guess I'll have to read that book!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back :)
return follower here :) I've not read any of this! I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThis week's was really hard. I'll have to look up the book you mentioned, now that my curiosity is piqued.
ReplyDeleteNew follower - Returning the favor. I have not read a lot of books by J.R. Ward, so I do not know who you are referring to. I will have to add it to my TBR pile. :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I haven't read Lover Unleashed yet! It's on my TBR though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
Amie
Hi thanks for visiting and following! I just recently started the Brotherhood series, so I don't know who Xcor is but so far I really dig all of the vampire brothers.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series yet! Will have to check it out in the future!
ReplyDeleteMy Follow Friday!
I'm hoping to read the BDB books later this month. Xcor sounds like an awesome bad guy!
ReplyDeleteMy FF is here if you'd like a look.
Sounds like a recipe for a really interesting, layered character - will have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteNew follower - Happy Friday!

Sometimes a bad guy IS just misunderstood!!
ReplyDeleteHere's our FF
While I totally get your logical explanation behind feeling bad for Cujo, I just can't. When I was a kid, I was pretty much attacked by a full blooded pitbull and I have the scars on my knee and leg to prove it. It was truly terrifying and traumatizing to me, so I can't give poor ol' Cujo who seems to be a victim of his circumstances a pass. lol. But, this is a great answer and it actually has me thinking a little bit more. :)

Thanks to all my new followers! I promise I'll do my best to keep you entertained.
ReplyDeleteAnd to Suz, you had me looking what I'd put down for an answer. Cujo is an interesting answer and it's too bad I didn't think of it.
Happy Weekend Everyone!
I haven't read the book, but I like that I've finally found an answer that named a villain who wanted to win. A lot of people seem to be having trouble. Thanks for following, and I followed back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by over at Drying Ink - I can definitely say I love Tyrion as a kind of antihero as well. :P Have you read A Dance with Dragons yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm following back.
