Fans of the tv show Spartacus can rejoice, author Lauren Hawkeye has created a steamy read set during the time of the Roman gladiator entitled My Wicked Gladiators. Courtesy of Bewitching Book Tours I get to bring you a glimpse of this book and hear from Lauren talking about her favorite books. So let's get right to it...............
Thanks for having me!
Since having my toddler a couple of years ago, the amount of time that I have to read has gone dramatically downhill. My free (read: non day job) time is taken up with writing, family, and knitting. So when I do read, I like to sink into a story that takes me away. I’m hoping that some of you will sink into My Wicked Gladiators next week… but *if* you weren’t reading that spectacular work of fiction, what would be on your list? Would you be reading a paper copy or an e-book? Do you have an e-reader and, if you do, what kind?
Here are the five best books that I’ve read lately. What are yours?
1. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
2. Radiate by Marley Gibson
3. 50 Shades of Grey by EL James
4. Hot Island Nights by Sarah Mayberry
5. Kismet’s Kiss by Cate Rowan
My Wicked Gladiators by Lauren Hawkeye
Alba has spent her entire life pleasing others.
As an upper-class plebeian woman in Ancient Rome, that is her place in life. But when her husband Lucius, the owner of aprestigious gladiatorial school, uses her body as a bargaining tool to increase his fortunes, she is faced with doing as he demands, or finding herself on the street.
Forced to lay with masked gladiators chosen by Lucius, Alba is surprised to discover pleasure in being powerless. Only in the forbidden arms of Caius and Marcus does she find comfort, however temporary it may be.
But with Lucius’ demands looming and the threat of death for her gladiators ever-present, will Alba’s fleeting pleasures be enough? Or will Alba finally grab hold of her happily ever after, no matter the consequences?

This sounds like an appealing, steamy story. The "B" review is very good. I don't watch Spartacus but I hear it's very exciting!
ReplyDeleteI like both ebooks and print. I do have a kindle and I really like it.
ReplyDeleteThe last five books I've read were a mix of print and ebook.
1) Borne Vampires III: Wulf's Redemption by Wend Petzler
2) Demands of the Heart by Brita Addams
3) Splendid Captivity by Brita Addams
4) The Lords of Satyr: Sevin by Elizabeth Amber
5) Hunted by Rebecca Zanetti
All 5 of these books were great reads.
I'd love to read My Wicked Gladiators.
