MY IMPRESSIONS OF THIS BOOK:
As a fan of rock star romances I was immediately sucked into this story of opposites attracting. In a series starter set amongst the world of small towns (and their familial characters) that Ms Hagen has lovingly crafted before, it's easy to get caught up in this story and its likable characters who utterly charmed me. The storyline itself is nothing new, but Ms. Hagen entertainingly brings together two immensely appealing characters in a sweet and sexy story full of heart and soul that readers will enjoy from the first page to the last.
Brayden Clarke and his band have been riding high through the release of four previous albums, traveled the world and become rich through touring, but he's paid the price when it comes to his personal life. It's made him a bit more untrusting, a bit more desperate to guard his heart from those emotionally painful moments of his past. Though he enjoys meeting different women, he's just as content being on his own, hanging out at home while writing music by himself. He finds satisfaction in being just an average guy and that truth is what binds him to Isabelle from the start. She doesn't see the rock star facade, she just sees the man in a connection that crackled from the start. Throughout their time together, Brayden and Isabelle undertook an emotionally engaging journey to HEA, one full of give and take courtesy of his rock star life. Brayden was utterly charming during their journey, sweet and sexy in his interactions with Isabelle. In both subtle and blatant ways he showed Isabelle just how much she meant to him, by listening to her ideas and implementing her PR plan he made her feel worthy. Through it all he's a delicious hero, one that I'm still dreaming about, and he can proudly take his place on my list of book boyfriends!
Isabelle Cooper is the perfect match for Brayden, a heroine readers have met in a previous book of Ms. Hagen's and who left a lasting impression. Isabelle's a strong-willed heroine, one with a strong sense of self-esteem. She knows what she wants out of life and isn't afraid to go after what she wants in a tale that shows her to be a sassy spitfire. From the moment she meets Brayden the sparks fly! She doesn't care about his fame and this truth allowed a strong foundation to form between them, one based on heartfelt talks and compromises. As they spent time together life became more of a give and take between them, juggling his rock star life while spending time with Isabelle. Through it all Isabelle is a delightful heroine with a kind heart and a bold personality. She's just what Brayden needs in his life to keep his creative juices flowing and it made for a sweet and sexy case of love at first sight that kept me glued to the pages of their journey to HEA.
Readers looking for a romance involving low angst and big moments of heart and soul will find that this tale fits the bill perfectly. From their instant attraction to their sweet and sizzling exchanges that pull them closer together this was a couple that I was cheering on every step of the way. In a story where support, friends, and family were paramount the romance between these two was beautifully balanced and it put a permanent smile on my face. By the turn of the final page Ms. Hagen has crafted yet another winner with an endearing rock star romance of opposites attracting that has me excited for what comes next!
